It was a touching goodbye for Eula Caballero and David Archuleta at the set of TV5 mini-series Nandito Ako.
Eula relayed to PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), “What I appreciate most was the depth of his character.”
“It started with light conversations. ‘How are you, have you slept well?’
“‘Then we started talking about family… then you find out the kind of person he is.
“I also asked him about his mission.”
Eula was referring to David’s two-year mission with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
The young Kapatid actress continued, “He said, ‘I’m happy to do this for my religion.’ [He said] It makes him whole.”
“He also said, ‘It’s just making me sad because I’m afraid that everyone might move on with their lives without me.’
“And that we should get used to not having him around since two years is a long time.”
“Especially for his sisters, one of his sister is turning sixteen, the other one will join junior high, he said, ‘I wish I could be there with them when that happens.’
“I said, ‘Oh, my God!’”
“I was in tears when he said that coz he, too, got teary-eyed.”
Eula added, “He has such a deep personality, he has so much on his mind… his family.”
“‘He said he has one more month before he goes on his mission and he wanted to spend it in Philippines since he has come to love the country.
“I said, ‘Yeah, of course! We would be happy.’”
“I also told him, ‘TV5 would love that you can do guestings in other shows.’
“‘He said, ‘I’d love to but I just want to spend it with my family in Utah.’”
Eula said she will miss David.
“So much!” she added.
“Then on our first night in Batangas, he again got teary eyed and said, ‘I’m gonna miss this, guys.’”
“‘We’ve been like taping every day, we’re filming every day and we’re together every day, we’ve been together lunch break and dinner break and all that.’
“‘He said, ‘I’m gonna miss this because I know you guys have other projects to do after this…’ and he said eventually our attention will be diverted to other things.
“He continued, ‘But me, I’m just gonna miss this and I hope I can see you guys again.’
”I said, ‘Oh David, you’ll be very missed by us.”

WHAT? Forget him?? Never of my life!! He loves his family and it’s hard for him to leave everything behind?
Don’t worry about the fans, David! Everyone will wait patiently for your return! Just enjoy those 2 years and be happy! You’ve made a brave choice, and everybody respects and admires that!
Just wanna say that I’ll be one of those thousands of fans who’ll still be here when you come back! And it’s easy to say that now, but I promise, in 2 years, I’ll still say that!
Much Love from this person over here! (@UpdatesOnArchie / Marcella)
What a warm and heartfelt interview – made me teary eyed as well! Eula had the time of her life shooting this series I guess – like all the rest! Great opportunity for her to get to know David – for more than just a day or too! From what she tells I it’s no wonder she shed tears as David says goodbye – almost 1 million fans will soon do the same! And David is right – two years is a long time – even though he has been saying the opposite in all other interviews – but I guess reality is slowly dawning on him! He will be missed!
I can’t imagine not having David and his VOICE in my life. Two years will go by just as fast as the last 4 have following David’s career. I believe this journey for him will bring us some of the best music he’s ever done. I’ll wait for that. However long he needs.
Even though people move on with their lives, we still remember all the people and moments that meant so much to us and carry them with us in our hearts til we meet again. You are one super-talented artist and special person, David, and your fans will keep you in our hearts until you return from your mission. We’ll be waiting to hear any tidbit of news of how you’re doing. You have given us so much over the last 4 years…and we look forward to more amazing music when you resume your career. Take care and God Bless You for following your heart…we will be right here when you get back!
This was so sad.

I’m just really trying not to think about it all in hopes it will help the two years fly by much quicker! I love David and all he stands for. I know this time away will strengthen him in ways we’ll probably never know if we are not in his private and close circle of family and friends. I only wish the best for him and I am looking forward to the home-coming when the two years is up!!! Stay focused David and we’ll all be here for you when you return!
Love and Hugs Always,
Bethann
GOD! i miss him!
